I use valvoline maxlife 5w30 or motorcraft 5w30 but mostly max. as long as you're still changing it regularly at scheduled times then keep doing what you do and drive it.

That mileage still amazes me 400,000

I use 5W30 Mobil, not synthetic. Seems to work fine. Just like 98Triton said, keep changing it regularly

Trying for 400,000. Have 308,000. I run Castrol Syntec 5w-50. It uses a quart about every 1200 miles, noticeably more if I use regular 5w-30.

195,### miles. Mostly straight 30 weight but I've run John Deere 10w30 oil and filters since about 120,000 or so. It doesn't burn it like it did everything else.

Ford has just recently marketed 5w30 blend at the same price as their 5w20 blend.
Good choice for summer time.

Oil

01 ORP 5.4L 87000+ Bulk 10w-30. Engine runs strong and have no problems with oil consumption like 5w-30 oils can have.

less friction = better gas mileage and longer engine drivetrain life

I am looking to increase gas mileage 2 to 5 miles per gallon. I recently installed a full flow Lifetime oil filter with stainless mesh filter ($100). I intend to change out my engine oil, front and rear differential gear lube and tranny fliud with the Amsoil products. Folks are claiming greater HP, smoother running engine and 25+k between oil changes while improving petrol consumption by 2+ mpg. The differential fluid should last the life of the vehicle. I am also considering 250,000 mi. propylene glycol coolant to prolong engine life and benefit mpg. 18 mpg just doesn't cut it anymore. I will post my findings later.

Amsoil 0W-30. Over 100K miles now. 16-17 mpg. I drive 80 MPH down I95 to work and back. I am sure my mileage would be better at 65 MPH.

Mobil 1 5W30. I switched to it at 30K, now have 218,000 miles on it. Runs as good or better now as it did when I switched. Only complaint is that when I switched, it started using about a quart between changes. No smoke or leaks, just uses about a quart on a 3K change.
