Throttle body spring..?

After taking my TB off and apart and cleaning it all out, I noticed that my accelerator was so easy to push it felt great. I popped the hood to check my oil etc. a few days ago and noticed that I forgot to hook that spring that runs from the metal plate to where the throttle cable hooks up. Now that I feel the difference, I like it better without that extra spring? Has anyone else taken theirs off? Should I not take it off for any reason? The TB itself has a built in spring to return the plate to normal position, will this be too much wear and tear on that spring without the extra one? Thanks.
