there not as good of a fit. sometimes they dont bend the pipes propperly so they have to be tweaked for a good fit

I installed these Hookers recently (not my truck), and although they seemed decent, they were a PITA because the tubes are too close to the bolt heads to get a socket or box-end wrench onto. And the bolt holes didn't exactly line up with the head, so it took some fiddling to get them all started. The guy who owns it has told me that they've developed a slight leak, but I've never heard of any headers (other than factory) that don't leak.

The Hooker instructions said to drop the starter, set it into the header, lift them into place together, then bolt them back on. But because of the body lift on his truck, I didn't have to mess with the starter.

Anyone know if AEM headers are any good. There isn't much of a aftermarket for the 04+ 4.6L. AEM and Pacesetter are the only two that I know of that make a set of longtubes.

not the fitment, but the durability. They are made of cheap material.

i just dont understand your claim of em cracking out bud.

my father has a pair of pacesetters on his 67 bronco, 67 fairlane, 68 ranchero. none of which has cracking problems

my brother has some on his 74 f100

my mother had them on the 302 in the 65 stang...

never had crackin problems with any of those, and your making me worry with your claims of them cracking out...

well ive heard of other years working fine, but its the ones for the F150's that ive heard cracking, plus my set that cracked 3 different times, and the last time, the collector fell completely off... They may last forever, but then again, they may last a week.
