Some codes
Hi all, my check light has been on for a while now and i finally got my a$$ up and went to autozone the get the codes pulled and this is what they got P1131, P0401, and P0133 if anybody could help with this i would greatly appreciate it because my truck 97 5.4 use to get about 260 miles to a full tank of gas and now a day i only get about 170. Oh i know this is more a tranny related question but how would you know if your tranny or torque converter was slipping. Thanks for any input.

First of all good luck on the tranny question - I've been searching for that question for what seams like over a year lol - Heres what the numbers mean -
P1131 Lack Of HO2S11 Switch - Sensor Indicates Lean
P0401 EGR Flow Insufficient Detected
P0133 Heated O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1, Sensor 1)
The tranny - Mine still slips once in a while from start, I can't figure it out. I think it's spun the stator by now , and the converters bad , but I don't wanna just thro a converter at it and find out it's the forward clutch after all. Flushing helped mine allot - well , the second time when I added Amsoil , It helped allot but it's still there (slipping just a little now) Thru some modifier at last week and it hasn't slipped sense, but it will come back most likely.. Amsoil helps with the heat control - that stuff really keeps it down. I'm pro-longing the death of this trans or converter as much as possible. $$$$$$..ChaChing..

Thanks for your reply but what do you think could be the fix for all those code. And for the tranny it turns my o/d light on it starts blinking after driving a while but i found out if i have the o/d turned off it wont do it. kinda weird But if you have any ideas as to fixing the codes i'd love to know. Thanks

You may have a vac leak , check all your lines , follow that hose from the PCV valve to back of the throttle body - it breaks at the 90 behind your IAC , you can't see it that well , but you can get at it with your fingers. IAC's in back of the TB.
Clean the MAF sensor. Re-boot you PCM - Drive it for a while - if the CEL comes on again , replace the DPFE..
PO401 = Most likely you DPFE Sensor is bad. This may be contibuting to the other codes - O2 codes.
