question on adjusting idle on 5.4

is there a way to make an adjustment in the idle speed on the 5.4l engine?

I have a 2000 supercab. It seems to be sticking right now early in the morning and idles below 500 rpm until the engine warms up for a few minutes.

No, there isn't. There is a hard stop on the throttle body, but don't mess with it.

Doesn't it have an Idle Air Control (IAC) valve? If so, it's probably carboned-up or defective.

I would figure it to be something with a sensor ( MAF or other ) since the idle is controlled by the computer. The computer may think it is at the right speed when it is not. Just a thought.

clean or replace the IAC on the back of the throttle body.
