Engine working too hard?

Lets get things straight... I will skip the fore play and jump right in... (This question is not about pings, or misfires)

Details: 2001 F-150 4.2, only 52,000 miles, 5-speed

I have noticed while accelerating in my vehicle there is a considerably loud noise comming from the engine compartment. I have had no problems with my vehicle, thank GOD! My overall question is this a ford thing? and if so could the problem be fixed or altered by adding an UDP and aftermarket belts to release some of the strain on the engine, or aftermarket fans? Dont get me wrong, I love the performance and exhaust sound, but I dont want to hear my engine cry when I mash the gas pedal. Could someone please give me some insight. In addition the vehicle has had an exceptional service history and no other problems.

In terms of help I really am not looking for advice such as buy a V8... So please guys throw me a bone.

Understood

I understand all vehicles' engines sounds will be slightly different than others but, will adding the UDP, or changing the fans to accomodate the engine alter this described effect? Again thank you for your input... I really could use it. I am in an isolated area with little support or trusted experts in my town.

Is this a new problem, and could you describe the sound a little better? Is it a squeel, grinding?????
Also as another thought have you asked this question in the v-6 section to see if anyone has any ideas?

Not me I got the 5.4, but I do understand what you are saying. That is why I asked if it was a new problem.

not a new problem

The noise is not a new problem, and to be a little more specific, I am basically wanting to streamline the engine so it sounds much more fluid rather than jerking, if that makes anyt sense? There are no destructive sounds going on. I have 2 other ford f-150's 4.6& 5.4 and the engine does not sound nearly as loud.

Kinda reaching here, but is there a silencer in the air box? And has it been removed?

No, nothing has been removed... However, by adding a new UDP and belts, or new 16in fans change the noise level? There is no knocking going on, no mechanical problems known and the truck operates well. Perhaps I am just one of those OCD type of people, where some things bother me.

Well I don't know about helping the noise, but UD pulleys, and E-fans will help free up some ponys to help the V6 pull the heavy truck around.

Guys I really do appreciate your input. I live in an area where there are little trusted gear heads that might be able to give me a hand. As before there is no pinging going on and the engine operates well at all times. I really just wanted to know if adding any additional components could change this effect. Money is really no too much of a factor, but finding any body capable of doing the job is... SAVY?

Furthermore, I know that adding the UDP or fans would help in the horse power situation but just need more clarification from you wise gents.
