Motorcraft 5W-20

Hi all,

I have a 2004 FX4 with the 5.4L 3V with about 35,000 miles on it. I just bought it from my dad, and after 10,000 he started running M1 5W-20 instead of the Motorcraft blend. Can I switch back to the Motorcraft without any problems? I am going to change the oil every 5K anyway, so I would rather spend less money on the oil if it's going to do the same thing. I have heard in the past once you begin using synthetic you cannot go back to a conventional, but the Motorcraft is a blend so does the same rule apply? thanks for any help.

As long as the synthetic motor oil product and conventional motor oil product meet the viscosity and performance requirements outlined in the vehicle’s owner’s manual, you may interchange them with each other.

In other words your good to go with Motorcraft.
