Dealer Oil Changes
So when i bought my truck a year ago they gave me a lifetime of oil changes that states every 3mth or 3000 miles... Great deal right? So I have been taking it every three mhs liek offered no problem i schedual one fo Dec adn teh guys say now they changes there policy to 5/5000 i told him i was offered 3/3000. My first question is one can they change it without notice and 2 is that okay to be getting it changed at 5/5000 i mean my truck being only 14mth old has 6500 miles on it.

The schedule is irrelevant. The question is what it says in your sales agreement. If your sales agreement specifies lifetime oil changes every XXXX miles, that's what they have to do. If the contract says lifetime oil changes without specifying a mileage, it's kind of up to the dealership how they want to do it, but I'd get it in writing that the 5k interval is OK even though you tow with it all the time (wink-wink-wink).
If you don't get the answer you want to hear, take it up with your salesman, the sales manager that inked the deal, the service manager, and/or the dealership's GM or owner if need-be.

My dealer also gives free oil changes for life. They had me bring my new vehicles at 3K for the first oil change, but it's 5K after that. The book says 5K miles. The V6's are kind of dark at 5K, but the V8's are pretty darn clean at 5K and beyond. I quit changing my oil every 3K about 15 years ago.

I usually try to change mine in my truck (with 175,000 miles) every 3500-4000 miles just because that is the way i was raised, and it cant hurt. But, there are many vehicles out there today ,because of advancements in internal engine wear from studies that are performed, that get there services performed anywhere from 5,000 to 7,500 miles! Because you were told that you need 3,000 from the beginning, i would talk to the owner/manager and maybe even call and check with ford tech hotlines. Also, keep everything you do well documented...if something off the wall happens and you dont have documentation...you'll be given a hard time....hope the unput helps!
