the intakes are different. knock sensor may be different, flywheel may be different. depends on years you are dealing with.your truck may be a romeo or windsor, the vic is most likely a romeo. few diffs, but easily overcome

well my truck 4.6Lis a romeo and the vic motor im not sure of, but i do know they look identical. looks like same cast intake and throtlebody. flywheel im not sure of. knock sensor? where's that located? thanks for the reply. i really appreciate it. so what im wondering is, are these identical other than what you mentioned or is there a mojor differance in these two motors? like i thought the trucks had different cams than the cars.

From what i have seen and read, the cams only changed when the pi heads were introduced. the intakes are completely different because they have a different parameter to work under: the truck is heavier, necessitating loger runners, promoting low and mid range torque production. knock sensor is in intake valley. main difference:some years are larger size threads, most people just swap the end of the connector. Make sure that vic motor is not too high mileage.also, let us know the year differences(yours and the vic) and we will be able to help more
