I am seriously considering welding a nut to the starter and drilling out the threads on the tranny. That will allow me to put the bolt in from the tranny side.

Drain your TQ converter when you change your start. Nice option

a better idea and it ain't even Ford's.

I live in Az and every cuople of years I need to take the starter off and grease the little reduction gears because the heat dries up the grease. 97 F150 150,000 with the original starter.
i consider it PM.

I got by without having to do anything except remove the transmission dipstick tube. It was very easy and quick. It is held on by one bolt. It gave me enough room to reach the plug. It was fairly easy. Not near as hard as replacing the rear brakes.

There's no reason to replace the rear 2 O2 sensors. They don't contribute to A/F ratios. And when I cut off my rear cats, I got a check engine light. So you'll have to buy some mil eliminators. There weren't any performance gains with my truck, so, unless you want a louder truck, I really don't see a point in removing the rear cats. I bought my mil eliminators off ebay from "thebestmileliminators". Get the 2 wire kind from him. They're under $20 if I remember correctly. The 1 wire kind are cheaper, but they didn't work on my truck.

I change my sensors every 50,000kms. The new ones go to the front and the front ones go to the rear. I buy the Bosh long wire ones and zip tie the wire in a coil till they go to the rear.
