351W/302 harmonic balancer and V-belt pulley
Does anyone know if the marine (volvo penta) and automotive parts are equivalent. I'm repowering my boat and have run into some issues. The original 302 flywheel looks like a 50oz and the new 351 flywheel looks to be a 28oz. I need a a matching harmonic balancer for the new 351 flywheel. It needs to be a thicker balancer because the 351 that I tried was not wide enough such that the pulley belts would line up. Im really not that knowledgeable on the topic. But basically, i need to match up the 351 flywheel with a harmonic balancer and V-belt pulley. SHould the pulley be the same if not the balancer? Im in a bind here and appreciate any and all help.
Thanks

Some harmonic balancers for high performance or industrial applications are wider, but will generally interchange. There are several different accessory drive spacings which require either application specific balancers or a "universal pulley with appropriate spacers. You can check out PowerBond/Pioneer balancers. They have balancers with removalable/interchangable counter weights and come with three different timing marks to cover all the different Ford applications. Spacers are sold separately and cost for both is very reasonable.
