normal RPM on idle ?

hello again everyone,

well i have few questions about idle RPMs. I live in Iowa and its really cold up here in morninngs average of 10F to 20F. When i turn on my truck the RPM is 900 RMPS then after five minutes it goes down to 700RMps. Do you guys know is this normal? What is everyone getting for there RMpS? Oh yes and i cruise down the Interstate at 65 mph at 1600RPMS... Is this normal ? what is everyone else getting? I have just purchased my truck so i dont know how it is during summer time. Thanks

neso

All sounds normal to me, if in park. Idle in gear after warmed-up should be more around 550-600.

In the morning, my truck will shoot up to 1500 rpm instantly, then drop to 1100 rpm within 2-3 seconds. It will then drop down to 600 rpm gradually as it warms up. I let the truck warm up for about 1 minute before taking off. I live in Wisconsin so we have the same kind of mornings. Driving down the interstate at 65, my truck will tach about 1800.

Normal RPMs for me are 600-700 at idle when warm.

2000 RPMs at 70 MPH.
