Location of fuel pump relay switch?

Merry Christmas to everyone in Ford country.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my last thread about my 1999 F-150 5.4L not starting.

Once I was able to get the truck started, I drove it down to the local automotive shop. Wouldn't you know it, the damn truck started every single time so they couldn't do much for me. However, it's started again.

My truck wouldn't start yesterday morning and it will be Monday before I can even think about taking it down to the shop. I've decided to replace the fuel pump relay switch because its inexpensive and it just may fix the problem. However, I have no idea where to even start looking. I'm hoping someone here knows exactly where the switch is located.

I've been looking for a Hanes manual or something similar but I'm afraid I must look on ebay because none of the local automotive store carry them.

Thanks,
dye7barrel

If you mean the reset switch for the fuel pump it is in the cab, beside the computer on the passenger side.

I've tried the reset switch but no luck there either.

The relay is in the power distribution box under the hood on the left fender well. There are 3 relays (square black) in there and the fuel pump one is next to the circuit breaker (3 smaller rectangle boxes) try swapping 2 of the relays around. The fuse is the big 20 amp on the end. (opposite end of the mini fuses).

I poped the lid on the power distribution block and I could not figure out which relay goes to what and which two to switch. I want to be sure I am switching the proper relays because I want to be sure that I am dealing with the fuel pump relay. I would rather know exactly what I am switch rather than get lucky because this really needs to be fixed

the other post was a description for the 4.2
these are for the 99 5.4
#6 fuel pump relay
#3 trailer tow charge relay
#4 rear air suspension relay
#5 PCM relay
try swapping 6 and 3. I hope this fixes your problem.
