....Just passed 105,000 the other day. Hasen't needed much maintenence, but I am giving her a new clutch and brass rings this month. Changed the brakes at 100,000, plugs and wires at 95,000, fuel filter at 75,000, and had a leaky seal replaced on the rear. Thats it other than fluid changes & performance mods! The only thing I haven't figured out is a squeak that comes from up front when I hit bumps...

163,300 - '97 F150 SuperCab Lariat - 4.6L 4R70W 3.55 Peg-Leg.

No major repairs to date (unless you count a battery).
Regular fluid changes (except the tranny, but I'm on that program now)
Replaced brake pads and fluid @162,000 (first time)
Original OEM tires replaced @ 90K.

Good Truck.

My first vehicle was a 1977 F-150 I6 auto without power steering. I drove the heck out of it and it just wouldn't quit. Only 150,000 on it but I was in highschool (no need to drive long distances). It made several trips from Dallas to Lubbock before I bought the truck I drive now. 1990 F150 5.0L 190,000 and going strong. I love ford trucks and aspire to own a Powerstroke some day.

My 98 XLT 4.6 auto supercab 2wd, just turned 140,000.
No problems at all and I am very impressed because
I pull a 16ft pace journy about 200+ miles a week.
Also have a 2nd job that puts about 150+ a week.
Only normal maintenance needed.

My 97 f-150 is running very strong at 132,000 miles. Just now had to change a coil pack on cyl. 4 but that's about it. Just very steady oil changes and filter changes.

118,143 miles today, 97 F150 Extended cab, same one I've had since joining here. I can't complain that much about the leaking back window (slider), slow passenger window going down, door cracks....cause after all that , I still have no rust, original battery (knock on wood), and it's surviving 2 out of 4 sons occasionally driving it! (oh yeah, the wife too)

With a kid entering college next month, I'm sure I'll be keeping the '97 for a few more years.

My 89 is at 165,000 miles. It has the 4.9 I6 and gets 21mpg on the highway at 65 with the AC freezing. I had an 83 F100 with the same motor and a 4 barrel holley with 325,000 miles on it. Ran super strong but I got tired of looking at the road roll by through the holes in the floor. I gave it to my cousin 6 months ago. He welded plates to the floor to cover the holes and uses it as a daily driver and has put 20,000 more miles on it. My F350 is almost 10 years old but only has 110,000 on it. It has the PSD so i'll probably have it for another 200,000 miles. I love these trucks!

Talking 108000+

I have 108k on my Lariat, and they ain't no sissy miles either. I bought it in 2001 with 60k on it, and it has left me stranded one time, do to my error. I got to hand it to Ford, they can build a truck to last, especially for a first year model changeover. The only problems I have had with it was the front break rotors warping, my passenger seat latching mechanism breaking and an engine light came on last week due to an 02 sensor fouling also. It does burn about .5 to a full quart of oil between oil changes spaced out at 3500 to 4000 miles.
But you must understand I drive this s&%t out of this thing! Stop and go traffic and 8 times out of 10 I have the gas pedal floored as the light turns green. On on- ramps I find myself dropping it down into low and winding it out almost to the rev limiter (sometimes, well oops)

My 1998 F15 Xcab 4X4 4.6 Auto has 118,000 miles on it now. The only major issue I had was at 66,000 miles the left head warped and blew a head gasket. Ford customer service in Canada was able to help me with the local dealer as I did not have extended warranty and I only eneded up paying $300 to get it fixed. Was in the shop for 27 days though No problems since then until now.

Lately I noticed oil leaking around the bell housing. Am guessing my rear main seal is going. Will deal with that this fall. Not sure whether to pull the motor to fix or to pull the transmission and try to leave the motor in. Not sure which is easier.

Only mods I have are K&N FIPK, 3" Cat Back exhaust with a Magnaflow muffler, and B&M Street shift kit.

Have contemplated swapping out the 4.6 for a 5.4, but may just go through the 4.6 and adding a blower. Any recommendations?
