i saw a truck for sale i think it was on ebay once. it was a 97 reg cab long bed that had the 4.6 auto. It had a pic of the odometer and it read 394,xxx. yes 394,000+ and they said it was running fairly strong. It had had 1 tranny and other suspension parts, etc but dang! 394 thousand off 1 engine is awesome!!

Cool

Just turned over 231,00 kms or 144,167 miles roughly. Slowly looking for another motor though. Had the compression checked last fall and all 8 cylinders are anywhere from 70 - 82 psi each. Wet tested and the one went up to 200 psi.

Have Fun & Keep on Truckin'

I WIN! 382K on a 1999 and 132K on 2001 Supercrew!

Hey there guys,

I have a 1999 F150 SuperCab XLT with the 4.6 and an auto tranny. I got this truck in late 1999. It has 382,000 (yes 382k) on it... When I was driving it, I took it from San Antonio, TX to Corpus Christi, TX twice a day (500 miles a day) five days a week for a little over 3 years (39 months). Now I have passed it on to my daughter and it only gets about 1300 miles a month on her now. I decided to retire the truck jsut over the 360K mark.. The transmission was replaced at 260K miles, the tires have been replaced 5 times. The spark plugs were done at 90k, 180k, 210k, and 300k miles. It is STILL running on the original battery though !! this is a darn good truck and I can see getting it to 500k miles with no problem.

When I passed it on to her, I bought me a 2001 Super crew (GEN III) and it has 132K miles on it already and I`ve only had it for 3 years.

mileage

when i bought my 150 4.6 with 135k on it i was hoping it was possible to brag about it hitting 300k as with my rice burning trucks. this thread has given me faith onto the path returning to the days when small block 8's never died. i've had it a year now with 12k around town without a hiccup. i must say though that i'm not happy at the gas pump - gotta pay for the big ride.

95,000 without a glitch, although the factory shocks probably should be replaced, the new sled was more important than shocks. 100,000 should roll over around end of april. My last truck a 93' w/a 351 was traded with 175,000 and not a wrench turned on it! With basic care these ford trucks will run forever.

my first truck 1991 150 with the I6 had 136 before the tranny went, darn E4OD nice engine still had many more miles, but considering the price of the tranny repair, i bought a 1997 250LD with the 4.6 last september has 96,000 on it but considering i'm in school and only use it as a truck in the summer it'll be around the end of june before i hit 100,00 only thing done since getting it is changing the rear end, will do that in may going from a 3.31 to either a 3.73 or a 4.10, hearing your milage looks like i got a really good deal on it

Thumbs up

My 97 ford f150 had 135000 miles on it when i put a ZEX nos system on it, No i'm not crazy, I was going to do a engine swap anyway. So how long do you think the engine lasted from there with a 85 shot of nos....1000 miles, 5000 miles, 10000miles???
I ran it several times at the drag strip, I would Say I went through 2 - 20lbs bottles of nos.... It was 170000 miles when it went, but if it makes anyone feel any better, i burned a few vavles while smoking a new silverado...( he didn't know what hit him.) By the way that NOS system is for sell check out my add in the classifieds...:D :D :D

I have an early 97 (got it march '96) with 118,000. Just developed a slight head gasket leak (antifreeze in the oil). Any suggestions?

I'm at 108,000. This truck still looks and runs like I drove it off the lot yesterday. I couldn't be happier. My last ford truck was a 1990 Ranger XLT 4x4, I sold it with 230,000 miles on it and it was still running great and not burning a drop of oil. It leaked a little, but didnt burn a drop.
