I'll have 101k miles on my 97 by January...

I have owned the truck a year and a half and it is in great shape. I bought it from the original owner and rebuilt the motor due to a small knock at start up. I am picky with my vehicles and decided to have it rebuilt. I guess the original owner ran it with out oil! But, now she runs great, bored .030, and has a 40k mile warranty! I changed the plugs, wires, u-joints, tranny fluid and filter, coolant, transfer case fluid, front and rear differential fluid, fuel filter, wipers, and air filter when I hit 100k miles just because I wanted too. I bought the truck with 95k miles and wanted to start clean with a nice history on scheduled maintenance. The only problems I had (did not pass inspection) was that the rear wheel bearing seal was bad and leaked so I had it replaced; as well as the notorious bad lower balljoints.

I just got my new Procomp Mud Terrains to put on. Next on my list is new Brembo rotors, pads, shoes and brake fluid. Followed by Rancho RSX shocks, Magnaflow dual exhaust from the manifolds back and O2 sensors (should have done them @ 100k miles). All of this will be happening between now and May of 2003.

81 F100, 550,000 miles.

I have rebuilt the engine and replaced suspension parts as they fail.

However, too much stuff is falling apart now, hence special ordering a new truck.

Heh, I tend to use the crap out of my vehicles

I have 120,000 with all of the goodies(elec.fans, 1715 programmer, high flow intake, borla cat-back). Hopefully I'll get it to 200,000!

Talking 200,000 Mile Club!

A year ago, I sold my 1990 Ford F-150 Supercab, 5.0L, 3.55LS, tow package at 201,000 miles to the Ford salesman, from whom I bought my current 2002 Ford F-150 Supercrew, 4.6L, 3.55LS, tow package.

A year later, I now have 41,600 on my new truck, well on the way to the next 200,000 mile vehicle.

My Ford salesman continues to drive my old truck around town as well!

No problems with either. The only real major repair to my old 1990 truck was a transmission rebuild at 115,000 miles. My new truck has been a real jewel so far as well!

I've been well pleased with both Ford trucks!

Thats why I don't feel so bad about buying a new vehicle, at least I know I'll use it till there ain't nothing left to use .

I'm at 95,000 miles on the original plugs/wires and have never had a problem (other than occasional pinging in the winter) to mention. I've replaced the fluids, filters, and tires and put a new set of brake pads up front. I really couldn't of hoped for better service from my truck then I have received. If I had it to do over again, I'd buy the exact same truck again tomorrow morning without thinking twice.

Just turned over the 13,000 mile mark, and this baby still runs like a top.
In fact, it's just as much a pig on gas today, as it was 8 months ago.

I love this truck and hope I have the same success as the rest of you guys.
I've had 5 oil changes already, and replaced the fuel filter a few weeks ago.
When the mechanic pulled it out, he said it still looked brand new, and asked me if I just wanted to put it back. I opted for a new one anyway.

I've learned a lot about preventative maintence from this site, and hopefully that will help my truck last a long time.

Lightbulb

MY previous Co. truck (1997 F-150 S/C with 4.6L Windsor) now has over 200,000 miles and is still going strong. This 4.6L has not been babied or seen oil changes & service at proper intervals. It has had (2) tune-ups and every major component on the engine and truck are orginal (lower ball joints & rear spring were replaced once).

This truck showed cold start engine knock @ 37,000 miles. Yes, it is still going strong (FORD TOUGH). It has also been very low on engine oil ( four quarts low--three months ago).

Just turned 100K in my 98 4.6L. I had a trans failure that was covered under extended warranty (74K). Other than that the truck is perfect. I expect to get 200K out of the truck. It uses no oil.

I live on a long, rough dirt road and the LF suspension has a very slight clunk. I suspect a ball joint. 100K of my type of driving is fantastic. I wasted an explorer in 45K. The road is so rough, the dashboard of my Mazda Miata broke off!

The F150 is one very high quality truck.

Still no rattles! Well, maybe one squeek, From my custom exhaust which I installed.

I'm in the club too!

This morning on the way to work, 100,036 miles. I wish I could say they were trouble free, but they were mainly fun. Plug blowout is the major problem and that's within the last 4k.
