Thumbs up 2001 5.4 Triton 4x4 SuperCab

I have just hit 203,000 on my 2001 and it still runs great. My kids 98 Silverado makes more noise and has more problems monthly. Lovin it. Tows the SeaDoo to lake every weekend and get me to work every day. No complaints from me.

157,000 miles. Changed spark plugs at 135,000. Plugs looked good...... Transmission rebuilt for towing with Luk torque converter. Tranny was not causing any problems - just wanted to beef it up a bit. Added trans cool cooler. (biggest cooler I could find) No oil leaks and does not use oil either. The 5.4 is one of the most trouble free engines I have ever owned. Bought this truck new in Dec. of 99. It has been to Veracruz Mexico 8 times and still pulls my travel trailer (7500 lbs.)with a full dresser Harley inside. When I get ready to buy another truck it will definitely be a Ford.

99,926, is that close enough? I had to get the tranny flushed and serviced (big vibration on engine loaded downshift), had a drivers side rear bearing replaced (my fault, i am sure) and had the TSB on the limited slip done all at the same time. I have noticed that the fuel milage has dropped this summer a little more than normal. I am running the original front brakes (pads too, yes), but they are really gone.

Overall, you have got to be impressed with any vehicle that has 100k and $700 of "extra" maintenance in it.

It is now time for: fuel filter, plugs, wires, 3rd set of tires, brakes all the way to the master cylinder, shocks and some touch up body work for a like new truck!

I'll hit 253,000 in the next month on my 1994 F-150 SC. It's got the 4.9L straight six and manual 5 speed trans. Other than routine maintenance - tuneups, oil changes, brakes, fluid changes, etc, the only other things I've done since I factory ordered this truck in April 1994 has been 4 alternators (the electrical plugs on the bottom are notorious for deteriorating and damaging the diodes), and clutch replacement about two years ago at 220,000 miles. I use it daily for my work commute and weekends as needed for hauling...living in the country, there's always lumber, firewood, gardening supplies, and so forth. I recently bought a 2009 F-150 SC STX, but use the 94 as my daily driver. It still runs great and I plan to keep on running it. Maybe I'll set a record.

Mine has 123k on the clock with no major issues yet(knock on wood) Besides having a spark plug blow out. Other than that the 5.4 runs strong and healthy.

Just turned 113000 miles last week. Only had to put tires on so far. Then again I've only had it for the past 2500 miles.

Well I just joined the Ford Community with my purchase of a 2003 F150 SCREW FX4 Lariat. It has 136,6xx miles on her. Only "problem" I have as of right now is I believe I have an exhaust manifold leak on the passenger side.
Things to do:
I plan on changing plugs (Motorcraft of course)
Changing Front and Read Diff fluid with Royal Purple (rear diff IS leaking some)
Changing Transfer case with Royal Purple
Probably change Tranny fluid to Royal Purple
Changing fuel filter
Changing PCV valve
Cleaning MAF
Cleaning throttle body
Get a stereo system in here!
