Being the originator of this post I sadly report that I have had the first major expense for this truck. I lost 4th gear and replace the transmission. That being said, I still think this truck owes me nothing. Haven't made a payment in more then two years. The odometer read 148,000 when I lost 4th.
The new trans is in and I still am making no payment...

Woohoo, just hit 100k this last week, and still going strong. I did lose the alternator on the road at about 99,860, but how much do you want from something that has turned that many revolutions. I'm pretty happy with this truck, and it has survived having my foot in it 90% of the time. Which is more than I can say for some vehicles I've owned,,,,98
112K miles on my 98 F150 and it runs as good as the day I bought it new. Just regular maintence so far. I'm looking forward to joining the 200k Mile club with it too.
1991 F150 XLT, and 115,000 miles, i just bougth mine about 2 months ago and already put close to 2500 miles on it and i love it. I use to drive a buick park avenue, loved it. It was a great luxury car. But i will never go back to a car, i love the truck. I dont know everything that the previous owner did but so far, it is great and i expect it to make it to the 200,000 marker. I used to not like ford so much, but now that i have one, everything else is trash. I didnt know what i thought i did, and ford is top of the line on real working trucks and overall durability.
My 99 supercab 5.4 just turned 105,000 and have replaced the spark plugs and the #4 coil. Other than that just normal maintanence and she's running good!!
I just turned over 238,000 on my 99 F-150. 4.6L V-8. I've used Mobile 1 since 36,000 miles. Outside of regular maintenance the only problem has been replacing the alternator at 150,000. Right now I need some ABS work and my odometer goes on and off. Oh yeah there's a light bulb out behind the climate control panel. That's it. Best vehicle I've ever had.

You might check the ABS sensor on the differential, you can do that with an ohm meter. Costs less than $20 for a new one. I had that go out on my 2000.
I too had the intermittant odometer problem. I took the instrument panel out and found a cracked solder joint on one of the ribbon wire connectors. Resoldered it a few months ago and no more problems, less than a 2 hour job. Here is a link to a post I wrote on the repair: http://f150online.com/forums/showthr...ighlight=Upton
