Of course - the 5.7 is the small block 350. It's not a Vortec.

Why not just do simple mods, im happier with my 4.2 than our 4.6. My 4.2 walks all over our 4x4 5.4, plus has less problems.

Just add a tuner, some staxx, and an intake and she'll fly...

Forget the v8....go with the 4bt cummins. Thats what I plan on doing in the future when I get my 97 payed off and a car to drive in the mean time. You can easily get 250 hp and 400 ft. lbs out of one of them motors.

Here's a 4bt in a 2wd 97

theres like 1 or 2 more guys on that site who put them motors into our body f150's....and alot of people are claiming around 30mpg out of them also. Pretty impressive if you ask me

It would be nice if the F150's motors could interchange as easily as the Chevy's 4.8 to 5.3 to 6.0...

I will one day do a motor swap in my truck because I love my regular cab flareside and I don't think Ford offered one with a 5.4...
