I think all of the OBS trucks(including the 04 Heritage) were drive-by-cable. But the 04 NBS trucks are drive-by-wire. That was a weird year for the F150.

yeah, i prefer the cable compared to the electronic throttle. every new vehicle i drive has crap for throttle response right at the start.

i have an 08 V6 manual now and i did have a 04 heritage V6 manual. i dont see any difference in throttle response at all, before AND after the intake. also thanks for the info about the throttle controls. the LIMP MODE i spoke of is actually in the owners manual. this guy i work with calls me Limpy now because i told him what happened and that it was in the manual, and he made me show him the manual and then he started laughing real hard, then he said well at least ford's symbol is right.... they circled the problem. he has a 97 chevy reg cab shortbed 4x4 with the 5.7 and also it only has about 50k on the clock. last august he had 44k because he let me know when my 04's mileage passed his. he bought it new with every option except white lettered tires which he switched off of a tahoe to get the whites(worked at a dealership) and he didnt get the push button 4x4. its a nice truck actually.

I mean I don't really hate on Chevy's too much. I will always be a Ford man, but if I had to I would drive a Chevy. They aren't bad trucks. Now the only Dodge I will EVER drive is a Cummins. My stepdad has a Ram 3500 with the Cummins and that thing is awesome and so quiet. But to hell with the rest of Dodge.

Dodge with a Cummins - great engine, lousy truck, lousy automatic tranny. I'd own one with a stick, but it would be a 5.9 pre-07 emissions.

That's exactly what he drives. It's an 05 5.9l Cummins Twin-Turbo dually with 5 speed manual.

To hell with a Dodge. Wow, they have a Hemi and go semi-fast but also they break and are cheaply made pieces of crap.

hm... well mine like pressing the throttle a tad is very responsive. last time i drove a ETB if you press it a little it dosent seem to accept it and have to press it a little more. same with my moms car- she dosent like me driving because the first 1" on throttle dosent do anything so i have to jam on it because im not used to it so the cars front tires will spin

I drove my moms four banger Camry the other day and I was trying to speed up onto I-10 and it didn't feel like there was any throttle..so I pushed it more and started hauling ass. She didn't like that.
