firing order for 4.2

was wondering if the order on the coil pack is as it says 123 on the left side 546 on right as you are facing the engine. does that mean that the front cyl. on the right side is 4 or the back cyl next to the firewall is 4 ?

OK, so that is the order on the heads, but the order on the pack is

back (firewall)
3-----6
2-----4
1-----5
front (radiator)

RIGHT???

On my brother's truck we have it on the pack as

back
3---4
2---6
1---5

This is the way we have found it to run the smoothest, but it still has a very slight miss in it. We have tried it the normal way and it just won't start. We have new Bosch Platinum plugs and FMS wires. We also couldn't find any vaccume leaks and the truck doesn't overheat while driving. Any and all suggestions appreciated!!! Thanks!

firing order

This is correct for the coils:

back
3---4
2---6
1---5

And for the engine:

Back
3---6
2---5
1---4
