Ecoboost Map Sensor Clean Part 2
Last year I made a thread on cleaning the map sensors for better idle and better fuel mileage. It's come that time of year again to do it. Truck has had roughly 20k miles put on it since the last clean. Mpg was down a little along with a little bit of a rough idle.
Here are the locations of the sensors and I used the CRC MAF Cleaner.
1st Sensor on top of airbox lid.
2nd Sensor
3rd and final sensor and always the dirtiest.
Here is a pic of the 3rd sensor, you can see the oily residue on it
I did a small test before and after. Made a 10 mile loop, running 65 mph with a stop light and accelerating back to 65 for the other 5 miles.
Before Clean
And after the sensors were cleaNed
Idle is much much better also. Don't expect 26mpg running 75mph but if you have never cleaned them then I wI'll bet you will see a difference.
