Question OBDII Boost monitoring with Android - good option?

Has anyone used a bluetooth OBDII monitor with Android apps to monitor boost and other vitals?

There is one like this on Amazon
Link: http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B005NLQAHS

I'm thinking if I pair this with a 5 buck app and use an old android phone that is already sitting in a drawer at home I could make up a nice monitor real quick for under 30 bucks!

The reviews on amazon say that it works with EcoBoost (its a taurus SHO that gets reviewed)

Just thought I'd check on here and see what people have done.

Do you have any specific apps for android that you recommend?

Do any of our ecoboost experts have input on the accuracy of measuring over OBDII?

(and yes, I searched... everything seems to be related to mechanical boost gauges)

Thanks

I don't know about the EB vitals and what's available for monitoring via obdii.....

but I do have the sct bluetooth dongle and both apps for Apple and Android.....comparing them to my aero gauges I see hardly any differences in a time delay....the one thing I don't like is yer tying up your phone while its monitoring.....yes calls will still come through but the monitoring gets interupted

thanks for the input 88
phone calls won't be an issue for me - this is an old phone that isn't used any more... I'd just leave it in the truck as a monitor screen.

I'll probably buy the adapter and the app first, and make sure it works.
if all goes well, I'm thinking of just getting a phone holder that plugs into the cig lighter and hold the phone... that way its a mount and it keeps the phone charged.

alright - the new toys arrived last night so here is my first attempt at gauges. I need to adjust the gauges since Ford doesn't report the Oil temperature over CAN apparently. The fuel economy numbers don't report either.
(I'll have to sit in the truck and find the right channels to report)

Now that I know it works I have ordered a cell phone mount so that its not just sitting on the dash... it tends to slide around when I turn right now...

Here is what I am running:
BAFX Products - Bluetooth OBD2 scan tool
http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B005NLQAHS
This plugs into the OBDII port. It is plug-n-play
Note that this does NOT work with Apple IOS.

Android App: TouchScan (OBD Diagnostics)
http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Phone: Old LG Vortex phone that I had laying around the house. (not used as a cell phone so I will just leave it in the truck)

After ordering the cell phone mount, it will be about $35 invested to have a boost gauge that also reports out temperature and other items.
