Blown Ecoboost at 79000!!!!!
I am so frustrated. I have a 2011 F150 and the dealer is telling me I need a new motor. There is a tapping sound in the motor. There are no check engine lights. Since I'm over the 60K it's going to cost me 9400.00!!!!!
Since my first oil change I have run with synthetic and have always changed the oil before it was due.
Has anyone else had problems?

Let me see how I can help. PM me your name, phone number, VIN, mileage, and dealer info. I'll look into some things on my end.

It's a business thing. The others offer the longer warranty to try to get more customers. Ford is the number one truck manufacturer with it's more limited warranty. So, where is their incentive to extend the warranty?

I understand that, but I know for a fact that they lose customers due to their short warranty. It makes it seem like they're less reliable and that's why Ford doesn't want to warranty them past 60k. But yes, obviously they've ran the numbers and believe it's still better for them to keep the 6yr/60k, otherwise they would have changed it. Doesn't affect me because it'll be a while before I ever have a vehicle with a warranty, but I still feel like it displays low confidence in your product. Quality parts and goods come with longer warranties.

If the vehicles don't sell then the warranty is offered to get customers. Hyundai is a good example. They were crappy cars to begin with. But their 10/100k warranty kept enough customers long enough that the company succeeded and gave them time to get their cars up to par. With GM, that's another matter. Will they ever make long lasting reliable vehicles? You decide.
