Remote oil filter for 2013 F150 Eco-boost

Hello everyone!

I am new to this forum and thank you all for the info. I currently own a 2013 F150 Supercrew with the eco-boost engine. I love the truck so far and have about 30,000 miles on it.

I still do my own service work (when possible), which includes oil changes. My only complaint with the eco-boost is that changing the oil is a real pain.

Does anyone have info on a remote oil filter kit for the eco-boost 3.5L?

Thank you in advance!

I would be very very careful on these motors. While in theory it sounds good... no way in hell I'd mess with that. Ford is gonna look for every excuse to deny a claim. I'm not saying they are troubled motors, but there have been occasionally some serious issues and I wouldn't want to have an issue over a filter. Just my opinion.

I used to be that way, until I figured out that a dealership can often change it cheaper than you can buy the materials for. 5w30 MC semi syn oil around here costs $5-6 per qt.

Technically, manufacturing a remote oil filter might not be that hard, assuming that engineering isn't needed. If engineering is needed, say to validate oil pressure created enough flow to get all contaminants into the new filter location, there is likely only one way the need would be determined. It's not reasonable to expect a manufacturer to cover the cost of a failed experiment. Hence I completely agree with this post.
