2014 3.7-liter CNG Preview

So, Ford is tackling the demand for CNG trucks themselves for 2014. It's not such a bad deal from what they say. It's a $7,700 premium over the normal truck, so I can't say it's cheap. If you live in an are with easy access to natural gas though, it might float your boat.

Worth it? Or is good ol' gas just the way to go?

•Bed space is reduced by about a third, which could be a problem for some people.
•The system is fairly light at roughly 200 lbs.
•They’ll cost $7,700 more than the F-150 XLT package.
Worth it? Not from where I'm sitting.

We're in the process of figuring out what vehicle to get next for work. An additional 7700 would be a deterrent.

How many miles and years would it take for lower fuel costs to offset that $8k? A lot I feel, and for technology that hasn't yet proven ultimately reliable yet.

Saw the 2014 3.7L is CNG offered for $375. That might just be wiring? Still pass.
