How smooth is your "power band"

Alright guys I bought a new to me 2011 FX4 crewcab ecoboost two weeks ago now. I've been noticing that drivin around town when I am accelerating that the "Pull" of the truck doesn't feel constant or very smooth. Since ive done my fair share of modifying cars it has me alittle concerned that the truck has a bad tune on it, which more then likely means it has been tuned before and returned to stock?

What are you guys seeing with your trucks? nice smooth steady accel, or kind more like your power comes on in stages. And yes I know the difference between turbo lag and a unsmooth power band. This definietly isnt turbo lag.

Also since I bought my truck from a ford dealership thy should have done the intercooler recall before reselling it correct?

The intercooler issue is NOT a recall, it's a TSB. I highly doubt that they did it.

once I get into the power band (past any turbo lag) mine pulls strong and hard.

The only inconsistencies I've noticed are at initial acceleration and I've always chalked them up to slight turbo lag.

Any issues with moisture would be intermittent... you have to be driving at steady speed for awhile to let the condensation build up in your intercooler and then when you give it some gas you suck the water into the intake and it stumbles. If you are just driving around town and regularly notice a "hickup" in the power then I would think it is something else.

Maybe time for a trip to a dealership to have them check the codes and the tuning.

the problem has gotten alittle worse and now I can definitely feel a rough spot in the power from 300-4500 rpm, It went into ford today so we will see what they say.

Truck is still at ford, they say in data logging they found a slight mis/stumble. But no DTC's?? Anyways they say it is one of 3 things all which have been mentioned here before 1) PCM reprogram is needed 2) intercooler TSB needs to be done or 3) plug gaps need to be adjusted.

My response was why not do all 3? They could have easily had all 3 done in the time they have waited to here back from ford.

I am going to check that myself this weekend... They claimed to reporgram the PCM but the problem is still their. They said they could not replicate the problem, even though I can get it to happen literaly every time.
