ECO Hissing noise

Anybody have this issue with their eco? Upon starting up there is like a compressor/hissing/vacum noise on. I think it goes away with giving it gas, but come back to idle it comes back. And the AC is not on. Its pretty profoun noise. Goes to dealer on friday, just wondering any thoughts.

I was thinking maybe a bearing is bad in something like the alternator or something or the turbos have something wrong with them, I dont know. This has happened in the last few thousand miles.

At idle the turbos aren't spinning very much and shouldn't really be making much noise. Where is the sound coming from?

i couldnt really isolate but it sounds like from the front. Yeah I figured the turbos wouldnt be spooling. I really sounds like a compressor noise like the back of a fridge but really loud. Maybe air buble in the inter cooler.

mine is making a similar noise it is loud though. Mine is the vaccum pump it is getting replaced when my dealer gets the part in. on the 11s and 12s its in front of the front drivers side fender and can get water on it causing it to fail. on the 13s they mounted it elsewhere not sure what they will do to fix the issue. This is info from the dealer.

thanks sounds about right. and probably the area that it comes from. What does the vacum pump do, and does it affect performance at all.

this might make sense, because the the constant noise has just started, but the 4 wheel drive has been making a vacum noise for a while which I always thought was odd.

At nonproductive the turbos aren't rotating very much and shouldn't really be creating much disturbance. Actually from where is the distortion-ed sound coming from.
