I want a tuner for my birthday but not sure which one to get. I honestly don't know anything about these things except for the fact that they are great for mpg and power gains. I'd really like some information from ya'll on how they work. And suggestions of course on which is the best to get.

 

SCT Xcal3 or anything from SCT. Then get some custom tunes from a good tuner or for full gains get it dyno tuned.

 

Thanks man. I know somebody who may be able to give me a tune or two. Not sure what he does and doesn't do/have at his body shop.

 

Tunes at a body shop? I think I'd stick with one of the reputable mail-order tuners.

 

I understand what you are saying (and agree) but there is really no such thing as a "Reputable mail-order tuner"............IMHO
