What are you currently getting for mpgs with your 4.2 V6?

I normally got 17 combined half city half highway. The last tank I drove as conservatively as possible and got 18.9. That was about 60% highway and 40% city. I drove 403 miles on the tank befor refueling. It only took 21gal so I suppose I had 6 gallons still in there.

What's everyone else getting?

With 35" tires & city driving, I'm lucky to see low teens.

According to Fuelly, my best MPG so far has been 15.9 for a tank. My average is 14.5, and my last tank was 13.5 (I was towing a camper). I have an '00 with a 5-speed and 265/70R16s.

ranges from 14-17 mixed 80% hwy/20% city.....have to love the 14 mile trip at 70 mph...totally kills the mileage.

I can stretch up to around 20-21 on the highway with a/c off cruising at 70 (for long trips)

I get around 15 in the city. On the highway, it depends on speed, hills, winds, A/C use, and gas quality. It ranges from 17 to 22. I just took a trip to Chicago and back, and on the way back I made it from Morris IL to Lebanon MO (430 miles) on one tank of gas and got 20.1. I had the A/C on all the way, ran on cruise at limit +4, and used 87 octane BP E-10. On the way up, I only got about 18.5 from Joplin to St. Louis on Walmart crap gas.

It would be a negligible gain. Probably not even 1 mpg together. Keep in mind you have to keep it under 2,000 rpms to get a decent mileage with these engines. My plenum opens @ 2500 so I can see the GPM flow double when I hit "vtec"

9 city/11 highway.

Clogged catalytic converter. $250 for two maggie high-flows and a $250 weld job fixed that. Just topped off tonight- 19.28 mpg on Wally-world E10.

The WORST I ever got was 12.2 - that was between Odessa and El Paso TX, on a load of crap no name gas, cruising 85 into a 40 knot headwind with the A/C on. The BEST I ever got was 23.2, between Durango and Colorado Springs CO, on 85 octane mountain gas, taking my time and sightseeing.
