burning dpfe hoses

I have a 99 f150 w/ 4.2 I was getting the common code showing that the dpfe was bad (factory metal one). The day after changing the dpfe as soon as the truck hit 3-3.5k rpm the hoses (oem) blew/burned. This is continuing to happen along with code p0174 which is lean bank 2. Im guessing the code is being thrown due to the major vacuum leak this causes. Sure enough the new dpfe got cooked and melted from the hoses not being there so I put the old dpfe back on and still the same problem. Weather I start off with the truck hot or cold as soon as I hit 3-3.5k rpm the hoses go.

Do you guys know what could be wrong here other than using the OEM hoses? Id hate to go pay is $20 [ive read thats the price anyways] a hose at ford just for them to get cooked. The egr has been tested and is good and the solenoid is good as well it has less than 50mi on it.
