adding power to a 4.2L V6

I have an 05 F150 STX w a 4.2L V6. What would be a cheap but still effective way to gain some power? I have a K&N drop in filter right now. I was thinkin a throttlebody spacer, plugs and wires, and exhaust. I just ordered some new rims from buywheelstoday.com and I got a set of 265-70-17 Fuzion ATI all terrains. On the inside I have custom seat covers from StylinConcepts, two AutoTech SS 12's pushed by an 1100 watt Cadence amp w a factory head unit. I have red led's under the dash, and green underglow on the outside with a green light bar behind my grille, It looks awesome at nite. But back to the point, what would be a inexpensive way to gain a few horses? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Jonathon

Thanks. I hadn't gotten one yet, I've been kinda leery about it, I didn't wanna blow 100 bucks for something I wasn't sure on how it's gonna work. What would you recomend?

I wanna add exhaust, but I don't wanna make it sound like a ricer since it's a v6. I heard that flowmasters sound good, but I'm still not sure.

I've got AF1 CAI kit, Xcal3 (waiting on tunes from TP), putting on cherry bomb votrex catback next week. Efans are on the list too. You can also get an ASP underdrive crank pulley to free up more hp. I put one on mine and there is a noticable gain in power.

well i got 2.5 inch into 4 inch tip true duals ... with a 2 in 2 out ARVIN muffler... it sounds great for a V6. it only set me back 275 bux and it looks great and sounds way better then the 1 3/4 that my bro put on there when he owned it.

Plugs and wires won't do anything for you unless yours are shot. The OEM Motorcrafts work fine.

None of those things add power

Get a Citizen's Band radio with a Public Address system installed

Or just try stickers

to fifty150, I haven't put any major mods because I'm still in school and only working part time. The stuff I have right now I got at a good deal and I want my truck to look good, not bad. STX's have cloth seats, which only stayed clean about a week after I got my truck, which is why I got my seat covers. my sound system and underglow were christmas and birthday presents, and I bought my K&N filter about a week after I got my truck. I spend most of my money on gas back and forth to school and work. but soon as I graduate and start working full time, I'm starting my performance upgrades.
