Exhaust P0401

Hey my old mans got a 1999 F-150 4.2L and throwing a 401 code which stands for Exhuast Gas Recirclulation Flow Insufficient Detected has any encounter this problem.
Anything helps

Common issue. The EGR valve could be bad, the EGR passages and/or lines could be plugged, the vacuum hoses to/from the DPFE could be collapsed and/or cracked, or the DPFE itself is bad.
