Beat a V8?

With all the mods and upgrades you put on your truck are you able to beat your trucks Stock Big Brother off the line?

you could mod a V6 to beat a V8, however, mod for mod, power upgrade to power upgrade, the V8 will always come out on top.

depends what you are asking

tj03150 has a turbo setup that will be a stock v8

Orange Thunder also has a turbo setup that will beat/run with any lightning on the street. (you can find him on v6f150.com)

A mid-highly modded 4.2 will take a stock v8. but thats stock v8 your really not comparing the same thing.

i once beat a buddy's Cheby 4.7 off the line at a red light. he had only exhaust, i had K&N '77 CAI and exhaust. i was pulling ahead then i thought i saw a campus cop, so i braked....and he passed me....turned out to be a maintainance car...

trimble hit the nail on the head. comparing stock to modded is like comparing apples to oranges. to be fair, you'd have to say, pit tj03f150 (turbocharged V6) against built54 (supercharged V8) both forced induction setups, and see who comes out on the top.

tj03f150 could beat my 5.4L, but i only have a true dual exhaust w/ headers.

the only fair way to compare any vehicles is with track times. and that still can be off with sand bagging and etc.

I never make it a habit to street race, but there was this one time...

I was heading to dump with a bed full of bushes, small trees, dirt, mulch, etc from a land scaping project I did at my house last Spring. It was very early in the morning and up next to me pulls an older body style Tundra with the V8 badge on the tailgate. He was loaded with some stuff as well but it mostly looked like recyclables, boxes, etc. So anyway, he guns it a the 1st traffic light and pulls ahead of me. The second light he's lookin over at me with the chit eatin' grin. Light turns green and I nail it, to my surprise, there was a much different outcome. I didn't smoke him by any means, but I was steadily pulling away from him. I also got in line in front of him at the dump

My Mods are listed below....

EDIT: Oh and BTW, I was only running my 87 octane towing tune which is all I ever really run on this truck anymore. I would have liked to had the 93 performance loaded at that time.

Not really trying to compare apple to apples, just curious to see if the more common mods are making much of a difference in performance. Like AI, custome exhaust, tunning etc. I should have stated that from the beginning.

So lets hear the those stories!
Dont forget to list your mods.

You might be close to a 4.2l - 4.7l v8... but anything beyond that... consider yourself dusted.

I was at a redlight when a 99-03 4.6L Screw came in the lane next to me. Jacked up on 33's I just turn my head and hes all revving out his redneck exhaust. Light turns green and from 0-20 he takes it, but once I hit 2nd, I pull up and he stayed on my back bumper all the way to 85 until traffic forces us to slow down. We pulled over and chatted, and boy was that guy pissed when he saw my V6 badges. I think he wasnt geared properly, but if he had, he would've won.

go to youtube and type in "orange f150" or "orange f-150" but it should come up. orange is a V6 with a lot of upgrades(orangef150.com owner the other guy posted) vs some whipple charged lightnings. there are a few vids on youtube of it.
