Replace the rear main seal??

im tired of my truck leakin friggin oil everywhere
its not a bad leak..it just gets on my nerves

im about to try my 2nd bottle of "rear main seal repair" although im sure its not gonna help any

what do yall think?

keep in mind ive never done ANY drivetrain work although i seem to be slightly mechanically inclined...i learn how things work as i go along pretty quick
ive installed my drop shackles, trac bars and other small stuff

so i guess i just wanna know if i could pull this off

you have to unbolt the engine from the trans, take off the fly wheel then the gasket goes in there somewhere.

Im going to replace it on the engine i just bought just to make sure its good.

Actually my X-girlfriends dad is putting the engine in for me since i have to work doubles sat. and sun. He's a really nice guy love him to death.

Ill ask him how bad it is when he does it!

will do!

My old engine will be getting stripped and built up! All forged internals and port-polished heads, with the adaptar plate from SSM to bolt a m112 to. Should be done in a year or so!

ok well i got a low down on the rear main seal.

And though i wasnt there i was told that it was a PITA. Its one of those things thats just not fun too do.

I took my flywheel, and torque converter off my old engine and put it on the new one today. Along with the wiring harness and new plugs and wires!

Replacing the seal is the easy part its getting to it thats a PITA.

Yes this is very true. Mine wasnt so hard to get to because the motor is out.

You have to remove the Torque converter, and fly wheel.

The fly wheel was simple. But theres not much room to get the Torque converter off and like i said mine wasnt even in the engine bay!
