weird idle

ok i started my pickup yesterday... it was warm... and i started it and it would barley stay running... i mean it would sound fine... but then it would cut out and almost die... then run fine again... then cut out and almost die... after the 4th time of it doing that... i shut it off and checked the oil... it was fine... so i started it again... and it ran fine... just like nothing had ever happened... weird... can u tell me what happened? did it just not fire right?

Change the fuel filter and toss a can of injector cleaner in the gas.

might help. mine did this awhile back when i was at school. i started it, ran fine, but as soon as i put it in drive it started shaking like an earthquake everytime i hit the gas.

sounds like to me to still had a little fuel in the engine when u started it, and it was trying to balance everything out. in a way its kind of a mini flood.

alos sometimes you dont turn the key long enough to get all the plugs sparked, and this could throw it off...
