Purchasing F150 through broker vs. Xplan

Virgin post to this board. Great information.

I'm in the market for an F150 Super Cab and have read with much interest, information on the Xplan. I was thinking of signing up for this through the EAA websight, however, after more research, I discovered that I can purchase this truck using an auto broker (www.carsdirect.com) for about 3 hundred dollars below invoice.

I haven't been able to figure out exactly what the Xplan purchase price would be, in order to determine if the Xplan can beat the auto broker in price.
Specifically, what I'm looking at is:

F150 Super Cab 2WD XLT
4.6 Liter V8, Auto Xmission
Captain Seats

Retail price - $26,310
Invoice price - $23,200

Broker price - $22,899

Any information, or if someone could post the Xplan price for this truck would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

x-plan is 89% of the dealers invoice price. to get the invoice price just visit ford's website and build a vehicle the way you want it and it will show you both msrp and invoice.

The X plan is suppose to be 4% above the A plan for ford employees from what the dealers in Ga. tells us. The A plan price is on the invoice.

x-plan

I purchased my '01 F150 S/C 4x4 last month on the x-plan. It is 4% over "A Plan" price (Ford employee) and it worked out to be just shy of $300.00 under dealer invoice.

I also managed to get the dealer to refund me the $99.00 documentation fee they included on the contract. The x-plan states no other fees (i.e. Doc or advertising) are allowed. Of course, there still is the motor vehicle fee for registration and plates.

One last thing...x-plan gets you a significant saving on an extended warranty should you be interested in one. The 6 yr/75K mile warranty under the x-plan was about $600.00 less than the list.

Good luck.

Natty

Also, with the xplan you get all rebates except the college grad rebate. Is the broker price including the rebates? Something to check out
