Bought mine in Oki. Japan through Military Sales. 97 SC 4x4 Flairside XLT 40/60 split bench front and back, 4.6 V8 5speed, 3.55 limited slip axle, rustproofing, underbody sound deadener, sl-rear window, skid plates, and ext-warrenty (not worth the paper) all for $24071.00 I've added K&N air filter, hard tannau cover, bed liner, rain deflector things on windows and lots of scratches. Tina, good point on the ext. warranties. Have you had problems that the warranty wouldn't cover? I got an ext. warranty on my 88 Ranger, and all I ever got out of it was a thermostat($5) and a heater core($47). Still have the Ranger, it has 123,000 miles on it, runs perfect and looks great. Shines better than some new cars do. I guess that speaks well of Ford but poorly of the dealers that push these warranties. When I bought my F-150 my dealer didn't even mention extended warranties. I have a good dealer now.

don't have my window sticker handy, but my 98 XL w/ TX/OK/LA package, A/C, 4.6, towing package, automatic, 3.55 rear, tilt/cruise,had an MSRP of 18,422; paid 14,999 [purchased new,in late Aug.98].I had the dealer take off the chrome wheels [it's a silver truck,and the wheels match]and in its place, order me an Astro EuroLid II. After the purchase, I've probably spent about a grand on tires, nerf bars, bug shield, shocks, exhaust.

 

re: ext-warrenty. Yes I've had problems: The famous leaking rear window was not covered by warrenty and the oil leak with the valve gasket problem was covered but would have to pay $50 to cover work plus make sure dealership would accept warrenty. Cape Fear would do the work but they never had the time and the other ford co. here flat said they wouldn't take the warrenty at all. Tina
