What to Do
|
This is wordy, I'm sorry. Two weeks ago I bought a brand new 2003 F-150 SuperCrew with 9 miles on the odometer from a dealer my family has dealt with a long time. The dealership is about 80 miles away from my house. I bought the truck on a Saturday and got the truck home, went in the house, came right back and tried to start the truck. The battery was dead. Couldn't jump it, and the indicator light on the battery showed red. Took the battery to the Ford place by my house and they said they had to look at the truck before I could get a new battery under warranty. I went to Sears, and everything battery wise has been fine. I called the dealer on Monday, and he said the truck had sat for a long time thought that might happen. He sent me a check for the new battery. That's another reason I went to this place to buy the truck. You talk to the owner of the dealership, not a salesman. Washed the truck last Sat. and found two bad paint spots on the truck. Again, called first thing Monday. He said bring it out so we can look at it. Did that. I was told that "something" had eaten thru the clearcoat clear down to the primer on the driver's door and not quite all the way thru on the left front qtr. panel. They said they would paint the door and qtr. panel and get it to blend. My question: Should I let them paint a brand new truck, or should I ask for another brand new 2003. Opinions please. Also, how is Ford's customer service on matters like this?
