Truck of the Month

Thanks KMACO694. I don't think people see all the pics. Very few guys have made "raptoresque" trucks. All I heard was how the front struts won't work yada yada yada. They do if you lift the truck! It all bolts on. I spent a ton of time finding parts (all lightly used). The Roush has been a project trying to dial in the tune. It is not there yet. Still tweaking. I wanted yellow and they only made it in 2004. People either love it or hate it. I understand.

I am currently working on my 2008 FX4 which will have raptor upper and lower UCA's, raptor tie rods (custom modified), raptor shocks, and Rough Country RCX 6inch lift. Front shocks are mid perch.

It also has a Procharger and Raptor tires and wheels. It is a Flareside Regular cab (white). It is 3.2 inches wider on each side now. I had to get custom spacers made for the differential to widen the truck. Raptor axles are impossible to find and I wasn't certain they would work. Fabtech makes the differential spacers so I copied them and made them much wider. I had to modify the bushings on the LCA's. The thing looks cool. I may get Glass works fenders for the front only.

Thanks for the votes. Big Yellow is not all beauty...mostly BEAST. But it's in pristine condition.

Just curious about polski-13's truck. Is it really an FX4 like your album title says? "LOWFX4"?

GL to all!!

I do, the purpose is for a look you enjoy plus the improved handling. If you don't take it off road and you like it lowered, why not?

I'm not sure what difference the drivetrain makes to the stance of my truck? I get the appearance benefits of having a lowered truck, plus the option of AWD when it is really snowy/icy out. Seems like a win-win to me.

Appearance is a matter of preference. What you consider a benefit in appearance may not appeal to other folks. Like jooman said.... Different strokes....

That is actually a good point DewserB, I think different tastes is what makes the custom vehicles interesting to begin with.
