A flashing OD light means the computer has detected a problem with the transmission system. It could be a wiring problem, a sensor, a solenoid, and internal transmission problem, etc.

You need someone with an OBDII scan tool to get the code. Most Autozone stores will read the codes free.

Get it done today! A small transmission problem can destroy the transmission if you ignore it!

Hi Wolf

Same thing for me a/t "tcil" flashing (o/d light) Except mine was flashing all the time, not like yours.

I decided to do scan..but needed to take schip out...after battery dis/reconnected...the light has not flashed in approx. 100mi of driving?

Tranny seems to be shifting/fluid ok. So i'm now waiting to see if it starts flashing again...then ill do scan for trb.codes Its my understanding that doing the batt. disconnect erased trb. codes. Good info. from Mark K.

My local Autozone could only read the OBD codes and not the ones that are related to the "tcil" o/d light flashing. Maybe they can at your local az?

Good luck...OT

btw...you didnt say...is your a/t shifting wierd/fluid ok/not etc?

This happened to me also about two years ago. I looked down and saw the O/D flashing and realized that my gear shift indicator was inbetween "D" and "2". I pulled over, put it in park, and then back in Drive but it continued to flash. I put it back in park, stopped the engine, then restarted it and the flashing went away. That was a real scare for me! Whew!

just a warning autozone is a joke

take your vehicle to a dealership for a real diagnosis. because a code doesnt mean **** unless you know what to do with it and the autozone people most definetly do not.

Mine started falshing, I took it to the dealer and they had to put a new torque converter in. I'd go to the dealer.
