Post O/D Light Freaking Me Out!

All right guys. Hope you can help me out on this. My O/D light stop working in the gear selector. The O/D works. Thinking it was the switch at the end, I replaced it. Still not working. If I try them both in my bro-in-laws truck, they work. What gives? I checked all the fuses linked to the O/D. All good. Maybe something in the shifter or column. But I'm thinking, if that's the case, the O/D wouldn't work. No? I also checked the little female slots that it plugs into. Checked for ground. Ahhh! I don't freaking know. But I do know that little freaking light being out is bugging the ***** out of me. Suggestions. PLEASE!!!Thanks.

F-150 Ram Air,

From my experience, I would suggest that you check the wires running through the "Shifter Column" up to the "O/D Switch". That's where mine failed.

It's very simple.
>Disconnect the battery.
>Remove the O/D switch.
>Move the gearshift lever all the way to the right (2nd gear) and then remove the retaining pin at the base of the gearshift lever.
>With the gearshift lever now free you can see if any of the wires between the steering column and the O/D switch are frayed or broken. You may need to pull the lever off the wires completely to check their entire length if you don't see it right away but odds are that it will be broken just above the steering column.

If the wires are broken, you cannot turn the O/D off.
If the wires fray, they ground to the gearshift lever and blow all the fuses in the insturment panal.

I hope this is helpful(o:
