Post aftermarket shifters for manual??

i just test drove a 2k1 f150 with a 5sp, and i kinda don't like the shifter placement... it is angled at the driver whereas my rangers stick is pretty much straight up and down... does anyone make an aftermarket one for the f150 to make the shifter mmore straight instead of angled??

Thanks!

p.s. how many people are having issues with their manual transmissions in their 2001 model trucks? hopefully ford has fixed a lot of the grinding and hrad shifts for this year.

FordTrucks4Life,

I had a ranger before this truck, and know what you mean by having a vert. stick, but after about a week of this truck, i became more of a fan of the angled stick. I have the bench seat too - so i find that if in 5th gear, it's possible to have a passenger in the middle seat if necessary.

As for Ford fixing the shifter problems, I can only hope for your sake that they have. It might be the only part of the truck that i'm not impressed with.

Hope this helps,
Bambino

Cool

I must agree with Bambino, I have a 4.6 5 speed, and it took a little time to get used to the angled stick (coming from a short throw sports car), but you will get the hang of it.
