Here are a couple of pictures of the custom gauge pod in the center console (Expedition) that I just finished working on.

Question

HI!... GAH : That looks really good! I was planning on doing the exact same thing if I can ever find a EXPEDITION center console. Where are all you guys finding them? My dealer wants $700.00(CAN) for one and you have to buy all the peices of it and put it together. My dealer says they can't get on in "ONE" peice. My local junkyards around here want anywhere from $500 to $600 CANADIAN for on. Any help on this would be great!!!!

Neal.
Here's the information that you'll need. The following was at the top of the receipt that came with the console.

LWM ENTERPRISE
RT.1 BOX 103 C-30
I-35 & HWY.9W. EXIT 106
NORMAN, OK 73072
(405)360-7998

I paid $100.00 for the console, and $55.00 shipping/handling via UPS to Hawaii. I was probably ripped off with the shipping and handling fee, but I'm more than happy with the finished product. Be prepared to spend 3-4 hours cleaning the console. I painted all the hardware that came with the console so it took me a little longer.
I have a '00 but I ordered a console from a 98 Expedition because I wanted to retain the use of my armrests.

Thumbs up

GAH;
That's VERY cool -- nice job. What a great idea !!!

Neal;
I also purchased a 98/99 Expy center console from LWM in Norman OK (405-360-7998). Cost was $89.00 plus shipping.
Installation was relatively easy. LWM included two adapter/ mounting
brackets that attach to the Expy console and allow you to use the Super Crew
bolts. With the 98/99 center console, the Super Crew captain's chair arm
rests are fully functional. A note for those with a six disc Cd changer
mounted in the center console: I had to order a Cd changer insert mount for
the 98/99 console from my Ford dealer - - cost about $24.00. Also had to
drill a new hole to run the cable to the CD
changer. Here are some threads with details on other F-150 installations ....

Thanks ... I'm pleased with the outcome. I went with the Z series to match the factory look. I used the green sock to match the factory dash color at night. If I was doing it again, I'd buy gauges with "through the dial illumination" rather than the Z series.
Yes, I also had to order a bracket for my CD changer, but I didn't have to drill a hole for the wire. My console already had a factory hole for the changer cable.
