Post 1st gear grinding.

Well, my tranny has been doing GREAT since I bought my truck, until tonight.
I was on a slight hill, and when I took off in first, after the clutch was fully engaged I heard a grinding, loud, for about 1/2 a second. no slip, and I took off and stopped probably 30 times after that (we were doing some errands) and nothing, it was just fine

Any suggestions. I am kind of worried but I know I will get alot of help here.

Thanks guys.

James

Oh yeah, fyi...I just put Mobil 1 ATF in, and i have noticed a difference, it has been shifting smoother, and also, it's the mazda m5od r2.

Thanks!

rtifactman,

It is the beginning of the end. I would suspect the throw out bearing or possibly the pressure plate fingures.
