Post Upgrade to Limited Slip?

Does anyone know if it is possible to add limited slip to my F-150 without having to replace the entire rear end? Any details would be appreciated.

Coonass,
I had an original Ford LS installed in my truck by the dealer. You don't have to replace the rear-end to do it.
At that time Ford was the only ones manufacturing a LS system for the F150's. Aftermarket LS may be available now?

I just put an Auburn Pro in mine a week ago. I think it is around $370. retail and about $100-$150 to install. I will be running some "tests" on it this week. There are other after market LS's available to you. If you go with Auburn, get the Pro model.

Is it installing a chip somewhere, or actually adding something to the inside od the differential? What is it that is installed? Oh yeah, and a web site if you have one where I can look at this stuff.

It it's a 5.4L/9.75" rear, you can install a Ford/OEM LS or a Auburn differential. If it's the 8.8" axle there are more differential choices plus the powertrax products. www.auburngear.com/402.htm for the 9.75" other areas of this website for 8.8". www.powertrax.com/ for the 8.8" non-tear down system.

I think Summitt has them for that price. I have had a lot of work done at this speed shop and they will match any price I can find on stuff. Keep looking and you should find the Pro for that price. I am putting 256.5 HP to the rear wheels or about 320 at the fly wheel. I am dealing with some wheel hope issues when I hit full power from a stand still. The Auburn greatly helped but I will be going to some kind of traction device such as Cal Trak etc.
Thanks for the help Max, those are good sources. I took detailed photos of the Auburn and the install and will post them when I get them developed!

Hey Flatsman,
Are you satisfied with the larger throttle-body and MAF in conjunction with the SC?
I've been concidering the upgrade.

Hi Willy, the best proof of what it will do for you is in my dyno runs which are shown on my Zing site. With the chip, my fuel/air was very rich, running around 10.8/1 and below. Without changing anything but the Pro M 80mm and BBK 75mm TB, my fuel/air went to a steady 11.7. Both dyno's are on the site. You will notice more kick to your truck and notice how steady the fuel curve is on the later dyno run compared to the stock MA and TB.
