Thumbs up B&M Shift Kit installed, Thanks TEDOCA!! :D

Did the B&M shift kit install this past weekend. Done in less than one hour. But couldn't have done it without TEDOCA's install pics and instructions found @ http://www.geocities.com/tedoca/shiftplus.html
Hey TEDOCA, next time I'm in Maryland or you're in Tulsa, I'll buy you a beer, or rootbeer.(Whatever the preference)

The kit is well worth the money! Up & Down shifts feel much firmer in Setting 1, and maybe a little too harsh in Setting 2. Passing on the highways is faster too!!!

01X,
My kit was the wire in type, not the internal tranny mod kit. I wanted a kit that would be easy to take off if I sold the truck or had to get it repaired. All it took was taking some minor stuff out from under the hood and connecting 2 wires from the kit, and putting everything back. Very easy install for the average shadetree mechanic. If you want to see how involved it is, check out TEDOCA's weblink in my original post.

Hello Sboarder,
I wondered about the long term effects also, and so I searched the f150online archives for any topics relating to the long term use of the B&M Shiftplus kit, and found no negative feedback. I have only had mine installed for 2 weeks, with no problems yet.
If you are interested in purchasing one, look in the Group Purchases section of this f150online message board and you will find my offer for a group buy of 7 kits @ $27 a piece, plus shipping. The lowest price I have seen yet is for $39.99 plus shipping @ JCWhittney. If you're interested, then just make sure that your tranny will work with these kits and then place your name on the board. I will only have seven of these kits so they will go to first come, first serve.

Cigarxtc, are there any B&M shift kit competitors that you looked at? If so, why did you choose the B&M? I was thinking of installing a Superchip with it set to run on low octane fuel just so I could improve my shifting but this would be a much less expensive way to go. I also did not want to go through the hassle of dropping my trany to install a valve body unit.

Stylin'SuperCrew,
Yes, I searched some of the posts for shift kits and peoples' personal experiences with them. I found more info on the B&M kits than others. I also did not find any negative feedback on the B&M Electronic ShiftPlus kits. I did not want to drop the valve body on my tranny either, so I opted for the electronic kit which connects via 2 wires. Very simple and inexpensive yet effective mod! I also got a price on a brand new B&M kit that I could not beat anywhere!
I can't believe how much all these superchips and high flow air sensors cost!!! For that much money, I could get sooo much more for parts when it comes to my street rod '50 Ford Truck. But to each his/her own.
If you're interested in purchasing a B&M Electronic Shiftplus kit for $27 plus shipping email me.

Question

Ok. Does the B&M trans. shifter void in any way the manufacturers warranty?
I read about it last night on the B&M web page and i believe it said that it uncreased line pressure electronically, is this correct?
What is sboarder talking about selinoids being overpowered?
And last of all what is your e-mail address cigarxtc so that we can email you and get this great price of $27 because the lowest I have found is $39 through J.C. Whitney.
Thanks 01X

01X,
Everyone that sells these swear up and down that they do not void the warranty, but I do not have the kit packaging in front of me right now, so can not confirm or deny that. I can email ya when I get home to let you know what the package says about warranties. Also, I am not a tranny expert~yet, so can't tell you specifics on how these things work. Maybe we can get some tranny experts to jump in on this discussion?? All I know is that they are easy to connect or disconnect(and after disconnecting it would be hard to detect that anything was done to the tranny at all) and they do greatly improve my ride!

And lastly, my email address is harmdiggy@yahoo.com

Hope that helps,
-cigarxtc
