I currently have a 89F150 with the 300-6 and 5 speed trans. The truck is getting rough body wise, and I am looking at a similar truck as a replacement, the difference being it has the 4 speed trans instead of the 5, same engine. Any advantage to either trans? I do tow a car trailer occasionally, and never really use 5th gear. Any real difference besides the overdrive?
