Question Noise when shifting from reverse to drive......

When i shift from reverse to drive i get a clonking noise from the rear of the truck. I feel like a light slip, then a clonk... It's very light, but noticable... HAs anyone experience something similar? Does anyone know what this might be? I took it to Ford, and they told me this was normal... You all know has the bullsh*t... goes... Anyway, any onfo will help.... Thanks...

Lubricate the slip-joint on the driveshaft; and look to make sure that the axle is not rocking in it's U-bolts; and look at the front spring pivot of the left-hand rear spring to ensure that the bolt is not chucking fore-aft due to looseness of the bolt.

It's more than just slip yokes. I replaced mine 3 times on my 97 xlt4x4 auto. The problems that everyone is having is from a lack of analysis on the mtg brkts that ford designed. The truck is too RIGID, STIFF. Check your trans mtg brkts, frame, exhaust. Look for sheared bolts. I have had all of these. Careful inspection shows that the components can't breathe. Causing surrounding parts to fail.

Scotty..:
Has this been resolved in the 2000 4x4? I just bought my lariat 2 months ago. Once in a while, I can here a small, faint clunk when going from Rev to Drv. But not the other way around. Is this normal for 4x4s?
