Question Is there A shift kit?

I have been looking a little and every shop I have talked to says that they dont know of a shift kit for the 4R70W trans. Although they all say if I can find it they can install it. My question is, Is there even a shift kit for the 4R70W on the market yet? I have also been told that the 4R70W is a completely sealed transmission(cant be taken apart) except for the the pan. I was wondering if there is any truth to what I have been told.

The 4R70W is just a AODE transmission. If you have the 4.6L V8 you definitely have the AODE tranny. Trans Go and Baumann Engineering makes them for the 4R70W (AODE) and the 4R100 (E40D) trannys. Call and talk with either one, they will verify what I just said. The website for Trans Go is http://www.transgo.com and the Baumann Engineering is http://www.baumannengineering.com. Which ever one you choose to go with, you will be happy, I know I love mine

I installed the TransGo a couple of years ago. Seems to work well. I also have the Superchips.

If you have a superchip, it modifies your tranny.

If you get a shift kit, you will need to have the superchip reprogrammed to remove the high pressue and other stuff it does to your transmision.

If you don't I think you can do serious damage to the tranny.

Go over to the chip forum and ask the salesman.
